Wayne, I'm surprised nobody has talked about the millions of uncounted votes in Florida -- those from individuals who didn't bother to vote. Isn't there some way of measuring their intent using quantum physics? And how could you prove Gore was wrong in claiming votes that way, because mere inspection would alter the unstate of the unvote (many, many apologies to Werner Heisenberg). <g>

As for the dearth of reality reporting... not only is it cheaper to accept and publish puff pieces put out by Wall Street, but the people in control of the reporting are, for the most part, in that top 2% bracket who would most benefit from the proposed tax cuts, so why report that, eh? Can't get those generous policies in place with everybody understanding who will pick up the slack (or who's kids).

The impending meltdown in Asia -- don't report that when the boss company executives have so much to lose in options if the cat gets let out of the bag! And what about all those corporations buying up ad time -- those execs could lose a fortune if the networks reported that, and those people might pull their advertising (out of spite, or out of necessity). Don't rock the boat and let the transfer of wealth continue as long as possible.
