This is a series of 4 posts on the latest SEMI data released
a few days ago. The posts will tabulate bookings,
shipments, book to bill(shipments), and bookings minus
shipments. Gottfried, hopefully I haven't made any errors -
if I have please let me know(or anyone else for that matter).

The first table is bookings. Note that with 2 months to go
in the year, the bookings this year are already ~ 10B over
1997 and 1999. In percentage terms, the level of increase
this year compared to either 1997 or 1999 is near 100
percent. If bookings top 3B per month for the remaining 2
months of the year, the result will be 33B+ for the year
compared to 17B+ in 1997 and 1999.
