FredE, We have discussed earlier about VisionTech and why they were issuing those empty PRs - just to attract a buyer. They have found a sucker in BRCM. A solid competitor to VisionTech, a company with products, strong customer base and earnings - C-Cube is selling for less than $900 million and these guys are buying VT for $700+ million. If you remember, they bought Armedia, an Indian co. with lots of engineers for their single chip MPEG decoder on June 1,1999. It is a shame that they could not develop a codec in over a year with all those engineers, several of them PhDs, mind you. Some thing is not correct here and there seems to be some fundamental problem with these acquisitions. I have wondered how these guys were able to acquire so many companies in such a short order with out indigestion. With the falling stock price, problems will arise.
