I have no doubt that Baker is in charge of the Florida operation for Bush, and that he is much more than a PR figurehead. As for Christopher, I assumed that he had a similar role, but I haven't seen his name mentioned for days. I was just wondering if he was too busy to be seen, or if he had left the state.

As for the "demonstrations" in Miami-Dade, I really haven't been keeping up to date on all the goings on, but weren't the people who stormed the counting room Republicans who had been brought in to observe the counting but who were not allowed in the room? If so, I sure don't blame them for being upset. The pieces you post seem to confirm that these people were actually brought to Florida as observers rather than as demonstrators.

As for comic relief, why do we need that? Sometimes the truth is funnier than any jokes. I heard Al Gore on the radio today, but only part of what he said. To me he seemed to be saying that he only wants one more recount. Unless I misunderstood him, what could be more absurd than that? In my mind I had a picture of him in a room 10 years from now talking to himself saying "we just want to count all the votes, and we just want one more recount. That's all we need...."
