Carl, I think that there is a much greater "clear and present danger". It comes apparently from the "Freedom of information act". Apparently, in few months, historian should have access to the ballots under this act, and who knows, maybe in three to six months, they will come out with the total "recount" (not ten yars from now). If that recount shows that the then present president is in the WH without the plurality of electors, and without plurality in popular vote, there will be no constitutional way to reverse this (when they wrote the constitution, they did not have that act which let every citizen with a "good cause", like "History" look into secret or other documents), and then we may really have riots in the street. I think it would be best if they clean this thing here and now so we avoid such a potential bruhaha. Frankly, if Bush is sworn in and then it is found he should not have, because of the current delaying tactics, there will be major problems ahead. The funny thing, of course, such a future count under the Freedom of information act will have no legal bearing whatsoever, nor even great certainty that it was correctly done, and thus could nor be used to try and "right out a wrong", he'll have to go through the rest of his term with that yoke, unless, of course, somebody decided that another impeachment hearing is called for. A lot of troubles ahead....
