The facts are that the grandfather had business dealings with an industrialist who supported the Nazis in the early days, but who turned against it and emigrated in the late '30s. Nevertheless, his siblings, who retained interest in the family business, but had never been particularly political, continued to have business with corporations with which Prescott Bush was associated. In 1942, certain assets involving a Dutch bank that was predominantly owned by the family, were seized as belonging to enemy aliens, although there were no further sanctions against the firm in question, or Prescott Bush in particular. In addition, years before the war one of the firms had sold some German bonds on behalf of an ocean liner company sailing under the German flag. That is about the extent of the respectable, provable, connection. There is a manuscript circulated on the Web by a couple of LaRouchites that claims to know more, and there was a controversial book by a fellow who claims to have tales out of the shadowy realm of the underworld of espionage, without clear substantiation, that claims somewhat more.....
