Patricia, here is a follow-up on my Etrade DSL experience.

I was in queue to get IDSL service through COVD. SBC already had sent out the IP info, etc. A few weeks ago, COVD announced that they were dropping the IDSL as part of their cost reduction plan and within days I got notice from eTrade that the DSL install was being cancelled.

Well, I had just seen news that Sprint was deploying their broadband wireless service in Co Springs (where I live). So I called them up right away to see if my residence qualified. Line of sight to the transmitter is required. Well, they sent someone out within a few days of my call and much to my surprise I was cruising the `net that same day at rates from .5 to 2Mbps.

I am very happy with the service so far... it's not free (~45/mo) but works great!
