Seminole County lawsuit will move forward

(11/20/00) -- A Seminole County Circuit Court judge announced Monday morning that she's willing to hear more about thousands of absentee ballots the Democrats want thrown out of the presidential election.

Judge Debra Nelson ruled against the Florida Republican party denying their motion to throw the case out. At the center of the dispute is Seminole Supervisor of Elections Sandra Goard and 4,700 absentee ballots.

Goard allowed the GOP to salvage 4,700 absentee ballot request forms. She let one or two GOP operatives come into her office and add voter ID numbers to the requests after disallowing them because of the missing numbers. Goard says she did nothing wrong
