I get a laugh out of people who think the President of the US is the most powerful man on the planet. The US Fed chief can trump *anybody*.

From page 12 of "The Greenspan Effect":

"In 1996, critics of Greenspan were an endangered species. A survey conducted in March by Fortune magazine showed 21% of the 204 top CEO's polled considered Greenspan to be more important to the economy than the President, and another 19% deemed him as important as the President. A staggering 96% supported his reappointment, an approval rating far beyond the waking dreams of any President."
