Multinationals are indeed melting borders. I picked up a book a while back by Koniche Ohmae (sp?) Borderless World, that sings the praises of this trend. And while this may work beautifully for business, human nature has a way of reasserting itself. We're not simply consumers. I don't think that culture, religion, and other such artifacts of civilization have vanished. They will continue to reassert themselves. A borderless world is a utopian fantasy. "Good fences make good neighbors" works on the macro scale, too.
