Hi all; Weekly update of PC800/PC133 prices...

DRAM pricing may be bottoming. Both PC133 and PC800 increased in price slightly over the last week, but PC800 went up a bit more, so the ratio rose again to 323%. This continues an 11 week trend of higher ratios, and is now the highest it has been since mid May. I suspect that this is close to the peak in the ratio that we will see, however. The thing to remember is that in order for RDRAM to become the mainstream memory solution, the cost adder has to get to around 15% or less. It is currently about 20 times too high, and it sure doesn't look like it is coming down to below 100% any time soon:

P.S. Calculation: PC800/PC133 = $2.629 / $0.622 = 4.23, so RDRAM is 323% higher in price.
