"You will be pleased to know that the Libertarian candidate for US Senator in WA cost Slade Gorton his seat. "

I've never understood why folks think that the people who support an alternate party candidate are inclined to vote for one mainstream candidate or the other. I voted a straight Libertarian ticket. I wouldn't have bothered wasting my time if the only choices were the Big Gov't party candidates. It is much more accurate to say those who were inclined to vote for a particular candidate and didn't bother going to the polls cost the election. Nader didn't put Bush into the Presidency (assuming), the lazy demopublicans who didn't bother did that.

Did you know that of the four Presidents on Mt Rushmore three were alternate party candidates, and one claimed no party affiliation? Go figure.

Regards,

Barb
