But I can list a great many Federal [down to local] govenment programs that are quite successfull.
The Interstate Highway System,
Many of those payloads flying high above our heads providing worldwide instant communications,
The Tennessee Valley Authority and Flood control;
the National weather Service, providing improved warnings of Hurricanes, Tornado's, Flooding,
The Hoover Dam,
Cleanup of the Great Lakes,
and moving down to the local level,
how about plain ol' drinkable water? Turn the tap on and it's there! Cool!
If you live in potential snow country, urban and suburban, how would it be if you relied on all your neighbors to dig the street out to the main highway, and then shovel your way on the main highway.
There may be a lot of shit around, but there's also a lot of ponies to go with it....
Suggestion: Look at a road atlas of the US from the perspective of what kind of infrastructure exists. I think it's more than impressive. But we, the people, bitch about the pot holes. True there's a lot of pot holes to fix, some bridges that are in need and a little corruption on the side, but it's one hell of a web of interstate roads.
