Kirk, AMAT probably has reqs as much as a year old that they can't fill. As I'm sure you know, good technical people in Si Valley right now are as scarce as hen's teeth. Good news and bad news, you know: business is fine but can't find new troops to help develop/go after new product areas. There have been some layoffs, but strictly dot coms, that you hear about on local radio. Might be a few software folks there, but overall not a lot of help to a company like AMAT. Hey, rather have it this way (few or no layoffs), not complaining.

Tony
