JIm, maybe you should go hang out with Dick and the money for nothing people. Dick seems to be into the same market up - W good, market down - Gore bad instant analysis. The market does what it does. I don't hear anybody whining about Slade Gorton and that recount that's just beginning. But then, as near as I can tell, Republicans have been contesting every close election they lost for years, and dragging out the appeals for months too. If it goes the other way, it's whinorama time.

Dan,

S. Gorten has pretty much conceded the race...the recount is happening right now. It does not appear he ran well in eastern WA which is his base. He's been in the Senate a long time; it looks like its time for him to move on.

In any case, the race here, in spite of its closeness, has had none of the rancor of the FL election...at least from what I can tell. Then again people here don't expect to be f*cked with like they seem to do in FL.....probably for good reason.

Have you heard about the case in Seminole County filed by a private citizen...apparently the election supervisor..a Republican...permitted other Republicans to come in and correct absentee ballots, so they would not be discounted for errors, several weeks prior to the election? It just keeps getting better and better.
