AVX offered to buy KEM a few years back at a good takeout price (i.e. imo, it was good), but KEM rejected the offer. Not sure when in the cycle that occurred, but I seem to recall that KEM stock price subsequently drifted much, much lower to new lows.(And AVX dropped too.)

Imo, I'd guess KEM still would not be willing to give up its independence now either.
