Of course the mutual funds are having to sell stocks because they need the cash to pay off the fundholders... When the dust settles with the election we may be able to see if the underlying reasons for the sell off but right now, whenever Gore opens his mouth the market tanks...by dashing the hope of a final resolution of the election. Greenspan has Gore doing a couple hikes for him but I'm not sure greenspan felt the economy needed it. Tech is just the casualty of a much bigger and highly inflationary picture. Sad but true. I can take it back to that huge tax cut on real estate and all the freed up cash reverberating through the economy. I also think the governments windfall is over for a while... Not a bit of that Real Estate cap gain comes back to the government and with all the losses this year in the market...not a lot of cap gains taxes heading for the government coffers either... Jim
