Second worst Nasdaq year ever, after 1973; may yet be the worst. Should note that 1974 was also down 30%. ;-)

Re 1929: It wouldn't surprise me if Nasdaq 5000 were many years away from being seen again. I don't think it's a totally unfair comparison for the Nasdaq (73-74 is probably better ... so far), although keep in mind that the Dow and S&P lost 90% from 1929-1932.
