OK LAWDOG: in fact your grocery shopping analogy is terribly flawed and corrupt.

Casting a vote is a right, paying for groceries is an obligation.

When I vote, I exercise my right to cast a vote. I have the right to cast a vote ...but I have no right to have my vote accrue toward the total of votes for my selected candidate unless I exercise my right to vote with the care that I should apply to all of my other rights.

When I shop for groceries, I have an obligation to pay for the groceries - regardless of whether the grocer made a mistake or not.

LAWDOG, if you don't understand the difference between a right and an obligation then you should not be posting about such topics.
