I agree with everything you say here, but I am not sure that the existence of God is the logical conclusion (which, again, is why I am agnostic). It is possible that our minds are just capable of handling the concept of infinite time or space... However, if there was a "first-mover" (this was an argument put forth by Aquinas, if I remember correctly), and that first force was God, and the whole thing began billions of years ago, I think it is extremely unlikely that any of our so-called religions today paint an accurate picture of that entity. In fact, I would go so far as to say it would be completely arrogant to even think that we could come to know or understand it through a book like the bible. |
