Enam Luf,
Just to make sure you know where I am coming from, I am a Christian, and I believe in the Being, commonly called God, and Jesus Christ as my Lord, and Savior. My beliefs are based on the New Testament which was written by men that knew Jesus, ate with him, traveled with him, and saw, first hand, the miracles that He performed. As for the book of Genesis, I do have some problems with the way creation is explained. I have my own thoughts on this that, in no way, conflict with the concept of a supreme being that I call God. There just is not time enough to discuss this on the web that one can do in person. There are far too many things to consider in the formation of a planet, and all the life that abounds upon it.
IMO, the New Testament is the truth, and an accurate account of the events of the time. The Old Testament was written by men from oral histories that had been handed down for, at least, centuries, and many inaccuracies could have been written. As far as the religions of today, namely those of the "denominational" doctrines, are concerned, they have ignored, or manipulated the message of the New Testament and twisted the words of the Bible to fit their own human agendas, and that disgusts me. ~H~ |
