I really doubt that. I suspect almost every customer of Amazon is already a customer of Wal-mart. This even includes the 10 million dormant customers except for those that are deceased. Wal-Mart has plenty of exposure for their on-line initiative via their bags and in store signs presently. I do not even believe Wal-mart will ever take on-line selling seriously. It is not viable as a model except as an alternative channel to their customers for convenience. That customer must be willing to pay more than in the store. I believe Wal-Mart knows that.

Wal-Mart is about as savey a retailer I have ever seen and that is true even after Sam Walton died.
