The sad thing is that some of my neighbors believe such twaddle. We took one of my daughter's friends to Monterrey Bay Aquarium and the topic moved around to where people come from and biology (I've got an undergraduate degree in Geology as well as Computer Sci), and I start rapping the rap about how people are animals and like animals, we share many of the same organ systems. The girl (who it turns out is being home-schooled for religious reasons) informs me "People AREN'T animals!". Uh-huh. I don't actively confront her, but I don't stop telling my daughter what I know to spare her friend's beliefs.
