The report you all are seeking information on is a heads up that Microsoft and First Data are about to announce momentarily a joint venture to offer an E Bill electronic bill presentment service possibly in competition with checkfree.
the report is bullish on checkfree, suggests that it may hasten the development of the industry, and suggests that checkfree and Integrion IBM and 16 banks)may form some kind of alliance, as a result of the above.
I believe recent weakness in ckfr may be from traders anticipating a public from mfst and fdc.
This would not affect the announced venture between msft, intuit, and checkfree establishing the previously announced OFX protocol.
Events in this industry are moving quickly and the players are partnering and establishing ventures trying to get into it. Checkfree has a uniquely strong position going foward. It will be fascinating to see how this all unfolds.
