edamo - over on real money one of the commentators who is quite negative has been goign on about GTW with similar opinion that I posted yesterday ie GTW is a little unique in that PCs only account for half of its revenues. When the other box makers were under scrutiny a month or so ago GTW came out and said they were just fine. It looked odd then but I'm not sure why box makers are still such a sensitive issue when

1. there is a clear move towards new products like PDAs etc and

2. people are just not upgrading as quickly or readily as before because 400Mhz to 750Mhz doesn't do very much for my internet viewing or my Word or Excell.

The same commentator IS however expecting that we are going to get warnings from all the bits and pieces manufacturers ie INTC etc that go into PCs and he thinks that orders are being cancelled. He says an INTC warning wouldn't be good for the market.

But much of this is already priced in and the selling is now at panic levels. Cramer reckons its not impossible that a mutual fund may blow up this week. Now bad as that might at first appear the prospect of a melt down of the mutual fund industry might just get Mr Gs attention epsecially as oil prices have subsided a little.

A finalization of the election next week might also help and it surely can't go on after next week.

I thought we would go below 2,000 but not from GTW. INTC would be a different matter but they have said the are OK and we have to believe that THEY would make a mistake on a serious issue like that as they know their importance to the country.
