Gore bases his challenge on his ASSERTION, claimed as "fact," that he won the national popular vote. He can't honestly make that claim, statistically. It's too close to call. Of course, honesty has never held Gore back from asserting his fantasies as fact. A 200,000 difference in 100,000,000 votes is way within the margin of error. A nationwide MACHINE re-count alone could swing it 200,000 votes in Bush's favor.
