Thursday's decision relates to technology involving gallium-nitride-based compound semiconductor LED light sources for mobile telephone screens and large displays. Toyoda Gosei, which had already stopped manufacturing and selling the disputed products, filed an appeal with the Tokyo High Court on the same day.

I think it means that demand for Cree's LED's just went up....

However, it also probably strengthens Nichia's patent portfolio....hopefully the ruling focused on the sapphire substrate so it won't effect Cree.

Anyone read the BoA report? If I remember correctly they were very bullish on Cree....I am curious to know what changed.
