Novametrix Announces Agreement to Distribute Agilent Reusable Oximetry Sensors WALLINGFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 30, 2000--
Ability to Provide Reusable Sensors for All Major Patient Monitoring Systems is Expected to Accelerate Novametrix's Capitated Oximetry Conversion Program
Novametrix Medical Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:NMTX) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Agilent Technologies (NYSE:A) under which Novametrix will distribute Agilent's reusable oximetry sensors for use in Agilent patient monitors.
"This agreement is a significant step forward for Novametrix's Capitated Oximetry Conversion Program, which offers hospitals an alternative to costly disposable sensors for patient monitoring, because we are now the only company in the industry with contractual relationships to provide our customers with reusable sensors that plug directly into all of the most widely used brands of patient monitors. This makes it easier than ever for hospitals to convert to lower-cost reusable sensors under Novametrix's capitated oximetry program while protecting their investments in patient monitoring technology," said William J. Lacourciere, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Novametrix.
Earlier this month, Novametrix announced an agreement with GE Medical Systems Information Technologies under which Novametrix will manufacture reusable oximetry sensors for GE patient monitors.
"Our conversion program has become a significant source of Novametrix's growth. We expect this new agreement with Agilent to further expand our growth opportunity in this important segment of our business," Lacourciere said.
