From Nov 27 issue of fortune.
Roger McNamee
We also happen to be big fans right now of Amazon. Wall Street is as convinced that you can't make any money in B2C stocks as it is that the earth is flat. In my mind, whenever you get that level of conviction, it makes sense to go back to the first principles and ask the question, Is that right or not right? And I think with Amazon, the current perception is that the current business model doesn't work-they'll run out of capital and have to raise more money. If you look at it closely, none of those things are true.
The customers love the service. The core parts of business are already profitable. The entire business will be profitable next year. This is one of those markets where, if your willing to do a little homework and your willing to be a little different from everyone else, there are more opportunities than you can shake a stick at, and to me that's what makes this exciting. So we do have very large positions in Intel and Amazon.
How long have had those large positions in Amazon?
McNamee: Since the middle of summer.
