Dear Lawdog: OK, seriously, I really dont think the Fla. Legislature is going to do that. They merely MUST have in place the mechanism to ASSURE that Fla's electors get to go to the electoral college. It has been my thinking since the beginning that Gore has no intention of winning this contest (I am sure you got to admit its a real long shot) but his real aim is to delay and keep the matter in the contest phase up through 12/18. If that happens then it becomes a matter of does the majority of the electors present rule or does it go into the Congress. I presume he feels it would be the former. Anyhow, for Fla. Legislature NOT to act under these circumstances would open them up equally for criticism of failing to protect our electors. In all fairness, its a no win situation for our legislators. JDN
