slacker- the reasons you give would explain the network change, ie the switches. What I don't understand is what does the use of GSM RF for voice accomplish for ATT? Assuming they upgrade their networks for GPRS data services, why do they need to change the TDMA RF to GSM? This would certainly be a waste since it would need to be ripped out and replace again for WCDMA.
