NETRO ANNOUNCES FORMAL LAUNCH OF 28 GHZ ETSI AIRSTAR SYSTEM AT IIR BROADBAND WIRELESS CONFERENCE IN GENEVA

Broadband Wireless Access Will Continue Support of Increasing Allocation of Frequency in Europe

San Jose, California, November 21, 2000 - Netro Corporation (NASDAQ: NTRO), a leader in broadband wireless access solutions, today announced the formal launch of the company's ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) 28 GHz AirStarâ„¢ system at the Sixth Annual IIR Broadband Wireless Conference in Geneva. Netro's FCC (Federal Communications Commission) standard version of the 28 GHz has already been launched and is currently being deployed in North and South America by Netro.

"As more and more 28 GHz licenses are being allocated in Europe, we find ourselves at a distinct advantage with our 28 GHz product which has already been tested and deployed in other parts of the world," said Matt Powell, senior vice president of worldwide sales for Netro. "With our leading-edge AirStar technology now deployed in more than 35 countries, providing the small-to-medium size enterprise market last mile access to IP, data and voice services, expansion of our 28 GHz product to an ETSI standard version has been a straight forward and rapid process."

Netro's product line supports deployments at 10 GHz, 26 GHz, 28 GHz and 39 GHz frequency bands in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Asia and North America. The company has also announced the introduction of a 3.5 GHz product, which is expected ship in early 2001.

"Netro is the first to commercially deploy TDMA, packet-switching technology," Powell said. "Our proven market leadership will continue to grow as we further push this state-of-the-art technology to expand with our customer's needs and help them maximize their business models."
