Scumbria,
RE:"Has it occurred to you that there are two parties involved in this election uncertainty?"

Sure has and one lost but wants to drag us through the muck.
Scumbria, there are people here having their entire savings wiped out and aren't that willing to take a government hand out from Gore. Only Pravin has admitted to being wiped out. There are others I'm sure. But Gore doesn't care. Perhaps his voters didn't have a pot to piSS in the first place.

RE:"One of them won a clear majority of the popular vote. The other is considered to have a small delta in his favor in Florida, and is claiming the Presidency based on those few hundred votes."

The law is that we use the electoral college. I didn't make the law, I can't change the law. If we went by the popular vote, then Gore wins. I wouldn't even expect a recount much less 3 or 4 of them...

RE:"The only sensible thing for the Florida Legislature to do is to divide the electoral votes in half. Obviously they will not do this, because they are controlled by the party of hypocrites."

Scumbria, again you want to change the law. FL and every other (save one or two) state gives all their electoral votes to the winner of the popular vote.

RE:"Where does your arrogance come from, anyway?"

Of late you have been resorting to name calling (arrogant, zealot) where as we used to be pretty good board friends.
This makes me feel bad....
Trust me, had Gore won and the markets were heading up, I wouldn't have much to say.
Gore has every right to ask for a recount or two. But knowing what I know about the election down here in PBC, he is clearly trying to manufacture votes. Local democratic leaders are really feeling the heat for supposedly not instructing elderly voters "how to vote correctly".
Then again, a lot of people down here would filabuster for 48hrs over how lean the pastrami is...
Thereasa LePore who designed the butterfly ballot has a Sheriffs escort, been sued by the Democrats. Carol Roberts has had death threats, who knows who that came from. Judge Burton took thanksgiving off and didn't complete the count. 2 hours later they did and it yielded 18 more votes for Gore...that's it because the precincts had been stacked...

Even if the markets were holding up and Gore kept contesting, that wouldn't bother me as much. Trouble is we may be going through the trap door before they get this resolved...

Sorry for the OT, thread but AMD is a victim of this...as well..

Jim
