I think we agree more than we disagree:

As far as I'm concerned it was a tie election (I personally would like to see them flip a coin for it; somebody else has suggested a duel, which might also work). At this point I don't much care which one takes office; the Congress is divided enough they'll have trouble making extreme changes in either the liberal or conservative direction, which suits me fine.

It hasn't done the markets any good.

Right now I'm out of ADI at a significant loss. Uncle Sam can have that. But I still think it's a great company with a bright future -- I just don't think the "Market" in its wisdom (yeah, right!) will recognize that fact any time soon.

BTW, I think investors will be paying enough less capital gains tax this year as a result of this lousy market that it will impact the alleged surplus.
