Brinker has been extremely clear on how to use his advice to invest
in the stock market. He has always emphasized no load funds and has
steadfastly pointed to broadly diversified index funds as the easiest
way to get the job done. The easiest way to exploit Brinker's timing
is to buy Vanguard Index Total Stock Market which gives you the
entire United States market. So far this year that
simple strategy is up 12.4%...far in excess of the 5% gain in
Vanguard Small Cap Index. It amazes me how people take such
straightforward timing advice and try to find ways to screw up.
Anyone above the age of reason should be able to make
a ton following this advice. Over the past three years you would have
doubled your money following this advice. Who else has beaten this?
Elaine Garzarelli? Marty Zweig? Jim Rogers? The parade of "experts"
on television is a sorry lot. I'll stick with a winning strategy.
As for perfection...what does that mean? Do I expect Brinker to tell
me today who will win the World Series in October? Or which specific
stock I should buy to make a killing? He has never suggested for one
moment this is his objective...he has put forth a method of stock
market timing and included the easiest possible way to invest...
no load low cost index funds. The rest is up to the investor.
I only hope he does not read this thread as he would surely be
discouraged by the petty complaining that goes on from investors
who obviously would only find true happiness with a hotline to
God Himself. But then....they would start crying to God Himself!
