Yes yes yes, thank-you for being clear on these points. Having read Katherine Harris's brief for the Fla. SC, I know you've interpreted the Republican case correctly.

Sorry if it's been said elsewhere, but I'd add here that there is apparently(to me) sound precedent in Fla. determining that voter error is not sufficient cause for manual recountings.

So, I conclude that a ruling declaring an illegal ballot(denied fairly thoroughly already- ballot considered reasonable enough, I guess!) ought to be Gore's main chance to get a new counting.
