The other way to look at that is, we've doubled the work force in 30 years and our (relatively free) economy is so vital and creative it has absorbed everyone who wants to work. We know exactly how to keep it going. We just need the political will.

Thirty years ago, one wage earner in the family was enough. Now, two barely make ends meet. Are things getting better, or worse?
