Nowhere in my message did I mention a specific ECN.

There are nine of them, and when their quotes are accessed via SelectNet, all of them charge a certain per share fee. I have no idea what particular firms choose to continue or discontinue doing, in the event that this proposal is passed.

Calling it a "tax" merely endeavors to use a word with a broadly negative connotation to distract from the fact that a $20 bid or offer posted on an ECN or ATS, when accessed via SelectNet, is not in fact "$20."
