Oracles quarter ends tonight and I hear they are poised to report a good apps number. My Big 5 contacts say software practices are firing on all cylinders. Andersen Consulting supposedly did about $1b in the month of November, their biggest month ever (total sales, I have no idea what the software practices did in total revs). Meanwhile, server sales by Sun and BEA remain robust as BEA is off to its 'best start to a quarter ever.' A large % of data points say ebusiness is robust but the stock market is saying something else. The Brocade action today was a relief. Great story, big end- market, triple digit growth, stock goes up - I didn't think I would see it again in 2000.
