*** Barra...at the forefront of applied financial research...***

Sounds like you and some of the other # crunchers on this thread would get a kick out of this website.

The following link provides charts on the S&P 500 and some other indexes from Jan 1977 thru Oct 2000...monthly charts only.
Under Fundamentals:
Items to chart include: 6 types of capitalization, PE - both with negative and without, Price/book, Div yield, ROE, ROA, Price/Sales (we have been in 'nosebleed' territory for 3 to 4 years), Div payout ratio, Price/Cash Flow ('99 highs over 5 time higher than '82 lows), Price/Free Cash Flow, and a few others.
The fundamental chart link is:
barra.com

And a link for the table of underlying data is:
barra.com

Another interesting chart is the 'Sector Weight' of Technology. Went from a low of around 8% in early '90's to over 34% in Spring of '99.

Anyway, you get the idea...its lots of fun (and scary, too).

Too bad there appears no way to link to most of the charts themselves.....only to the page where you load the parameters.

I just stumbled across this site while researching....Jerry
