This is the info ZA gives me on ping attempts from the irs page.

The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (ICMP Echo Request ('Ping')) from 192.168.27.21.

Occurred: 2 times between 11/30/00 20:31:08 and 11/30/00 20:34:00

IP Address: 192.168.27.23 IP Address: xxxxxxxxx.xxx
Host Name: Who is this? Host Name: Who is this?
Port: 0 Port: 0
Program: Not Available File Name: Not Available

ZoneAlarm has blocked an incoming data packet to your computer. The incoming data packet was dropped, and, because your computer is in stealth-mode, no response was sent back to the originating computer.

This message can happen in one of two cases:

1. If the source computer looks like a server you've recently visited, that server didn't disconnect properly from your computer, and is checking the connection again. You can safely ignore this message, because the server will eventually realize you're disconnected.

2. If the source computer is one you've never seen, it may be trying to connect to a service on your computer, or is scanning to see if the service exists on your computer.

You're safe! Because your computer is "stealthed", your computer didn't respond and the scanner doesn't even know if your computer is there.
