Brushwud, I don't want to argue about it, but you got several things wrong. Intel has done purchase transactions otherwise they wouldn't have goodwill on their balance sheet (unless the acquired company had goodwill). §197 of the IRC deals with amortization of goodwill. Goodwill is a deductible item in asset acquisitions, but not stock. Regards, Jeff
