actually, that thread has been talking about these last mile issues for a while. JC is absolutely right though.

IMO, AT&T should throw everything they have into becoming the first to do a major deployment of FTTH through there cable ventures. They have the fiber to the neighborhood already, they need to make the next jump to survive.
