| ed - *OT* speaking of cars, I just took delivery of a Lexus 430 "Ultra" - ordered it 3 months ago - and I am IN LOVE with it. Aside from the perfect appointments - suede headliner, dual lumbar support, extensible lower seat in addition to the usual adjustments, massage in the seats, heat and cooling in the seats, 3 zone air (right and left front, and rear) with air purification, a drink cooler in the center rear armrest, rear seats individually adjustable too, little touches like a padded sunglass compartment in the dash, and such, it is just a great driving car - very fast, sure footed. I could go on and on about the automatic water-sensing wipers, the laser-controlled cruise that slows down and speeds up if someone in front of you is slower than your cruise setting, the sonar sensors that tell you if you are close to some hidden obstruction - or a dog or child behind the car - but you get the picture. Plus Lexus Link that lets you lock or unlock the car with a phone call, make or change travel reservations, and so on all voice activated. And a truly awesome GPS navigation with a dvd-based map that covers all of north america and is accurate to about 10 feet. I'm sure I forgot much of the cool stuff, but for a car to drive every day that delivers fun and performance while eliminating almost every driving hassle, this car is hard to beat. |
