(COMTEX) B: National Manufacturing Technologies Inc. Adds New Custome B: National Manufacturing Technologies Inc. Adds New Customer and Expands Services to Key Current Customers
CARLSBAD, Calif., Dec 1, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- National Manufacturing Technologies Inc. ("NMT") (OTCBB:NMFG), a value-added, vertically integrated manufacturer of enclosed electronic systems and their various sub-assembly components, announced today significant expansion of its on-going manufacturing services to certain key customers.
Tim Mullennix, vice-president Business Development, announced that due to the recent addition of its sheet metal and electronic enclosure business, NMT has secured significant additional business from its current customer base.
According to Mullennix, NUR-Salsa (Nasdaq:NURM), who manufactures wide format color printers, has placed orders for nearly $300,000 worth of precision sheet metal and machined components, in addition to over $1 million worth of Printed Circuit Board ("PCB") assemblies, scheduled for shipment during the current quarter and early in calendar year 2001.
NMT also reported a significant upswing in orders for turnkey enclosed electronic assemblies from Ling Electronics, a Satcon (Nasdaq:SATC) company. Ling recently ordered controller modules and power supplies to complement current orders in-house at NMT. Recently, NMT was able to manufacture complex controller units at the end of Ling Electronics fiscal year on an expedited basis to meet a critical customer demand. These new units were assembled and shipped by NMT within one week, from raw documentation and partial material on-hand at the customer location. Included were sheet metal enclosures and machined parts, which were fabricated at NMT's metals facilities.
These fabricated components were then integrated with assembled circuit boards and wire harnesses at the Carlsbad facility. As a result, Ling has given NMT over $500,000 in additional orders for the first quarter of calendar year 2001.
NMT also announced that it has secured orders from a new customer, Pioneer Magnetics, based in Santa Monica, Calif. Mullennix stated, "We are working with a leader in the power supply industry and are assembling their circuit boards at our plant in Mexico." NMT also received recent orders for machined parts and electronic enclosures which will be fabricated at NMT's Oceanside and Vista, Calif. facilities.
