Thanks Traderjamie- that's very helpful- I also have had a lot of short disconnects and treat them the same way-maybe I'm on a busy Cogeco 'pipe' I know users in that area have these exact problems in the Queens Area as the students open up music sites and then leave them downloading for hours while they are at class- maybe I'm close enough to that server or 'pipe' to share some of the slow-down. Who knows. These problems drive me crazy as there are so many parameters- computer speed, memory, cache,time, connection and CSW. Thanks for your response.
