OT - AMD and ISON: My understanding is that they have had wafers made for "someone" to test. I do not know who was included in the silicon trail, but it has happened. This will not really be an AMD advantage, as ISON will make/have made silicon for any and all chip makers. AMD may be the first to be supplied, but adding production did not seem to be a concern to ISON. A reliable source was the concern.

ISON seemed to indicate using Si28 would pay for itself in productivity. I took this to mean more useful chips per wafer. If so, this would bode well for all chip makers, as it would reduce their cost per chip.
