surf: I love a tough bare-fisted political fight - it's the American way and always has been. I agree with a remark on the tube yesterday. The fellow said the general public is usually buffered from this sort of hardball fight by speeches, bands, and bunting. But this situation is really exciting because the nation gets to see how politics is done every day in Washington. It is eye-to-eye take no prisoners each and every day and the guy who blinks is the loser more often than not. Even though I think Bush will most likely prevail, I say follow every legal path to the bitter end - you're in the wrong business if you cave when faced with the opposition's howls of protest. There is a lot of macho chest beating and stomping of feet going on here but the legal processes are in place to referee the match - so have at it boys, it's showtime. --fl@tomdelayisbeggingforacoupleofgoodsmacks.com
