Press Release Catalyst Semiconductor Expands Motorola Compatible SPI Bus EEPROM Line With New Product Introductions SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 1, 2000--Catalyst Semiconductor, Inc. (Nasdaq:CATS - news) today announced the introduction of CAT25C16, CAT25C17, CAT25C26 and CAT25C27. These products represent new additions to the Company's recently announced Motorola SPI bus compatible serial EEPROM family. The new products, which provide 16K density, record 10MHz operating speed and operating voltages as low as 1.8V, come in a variety of packages, including SOIC and TSSOP. Catalyst's SPI bus serial EEPROMs target high speed, low voltage, energy and space sensitive applications including cellular and Internet capable (WAP) telephones, PDAs and pagers. Other applications include graphic accelerators, network cards and GPS receivers. Block write protection features, which restrict unauthorized access to certain areas of the memory, provide an enhanced level of security for certain applications. This feature is used for cloning prevention in cellular telephones and other similar applications, which require secure storage of information. Additional SPI products are scheduled to be introduced.
