I guess I need more than a vee bottom. Today's rally may have been short covering, but who knows. Recently I have begun keeping a spreadsheet of new highs/lows along with the index H/L/C. This idea was suggested by Justin Mamis as a way to understand when the true turn has arrived. Essentially, you want a divergence between the indexes and the new highs/lows (i.e., index still dropping while the number of new highs is in fact increasing). Plus, I want to see the bottom retest successfully .. and I don't think we are there yet. I thought the IBD Investors Education article today was a great confirmation that we are not ready for much yet.
